Porous Concrete
A unique kind of concrete with a high porosity is called porous concrete, sometimes referred to as pervious concrete, permeable concrete, or porous pavement. It's a good way to control stormwater and lessen runoff since it lets water pass through it.
Components:
- Cement:The binder in this case is regular Portland cement.
- Aggregates: crushed stone or gravel, typically.
- Little to No Fine Aggregates: The porous structure of porous concrete is derived from the absence of fine aggregates, such as sand, in contrast to ordinary concrete.
- Water: Added to make the mixture workable.
- Additives: Admixtures are occasionally used to increase strength and workability.
